The National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Mr. Shehu Gabam has been appointed as the Chairman of the SDP Presidential Campaign Council, by the National Working Committee of the party.
Mr Gabam said he was ready to take the task to lead the party to victory in the 2023 general election in Nigeria.
The National Publicity Secretary Mr. Rufus Aiyenigba earlier in a press conference at the SDP’s National Headquartres in Abuja, said that it was a “novel and innovative Complementing National Campaign Structure adopted by the Social Democratic Party”
The National Publicity Secretary says the National Campaign structure “is to ensure maximum productive engagement with the electorates in order to optimise the chances of multiple electoral success to restore justice, peace and prosperity.”
Mr. Aiyenigba said “The Council will leverage on four-tier State Campaign Councils in each State, the National Network of SDP Candidates throughout the Federation, and special mobilisation committees for women, youths and people with disability.
He also said “The complementary four-tier State Campaign Councils at every State and FCT is made of (a) State Campaign Council in each State and FCT; (b) Senatorial District Campaign Councils in each Senatorial District in every State.”
The Executive Committee of the National Campaign Council operates eleven Directorates from its apex represented by the National Chairman, Presidential Candidate and Advisors right through the candidates and State Executive Committees to Polling Agents.
