Pastor Jide Bakare of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, FCT Province 2 Redemption Centre has called on Christians to reflect on the significance of the birth of Jesus Christ as they celebrate the 2022 Christmas.

According to a statement released to the Voice of Nigeria correspondent In his office on Saturday, “Christmas is a time that we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. It’s the time we acknowledge the love God have towards humanity by sending His son for us. We as Christians should appreciate the fact that Jesus Christ does not come for his pursuit but He came to fulfil His father’s pursuit. He came to render selfless service to humanity. Therefore, we as Christians should emulate this idea. We should be ready to render service to humanity and to fulfil the purpose and call of God upon our lives.”

In marking the special day, Pastor Jide Bakare enjoined Christians to render service unto God and of course unto man at all times in whatever capacity that God has placed us.

He urged Nigerians to vote wisely in the forthcoming general election and shun bribery and vote for competence as well as an idea that would bring progress and also promote unity and love in Nigeria.

He prayed for a peaceful Christmas and prosperous New year celebrations.
