Manchester United sealed a 3-0 victory against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, courtesy of goals from Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Fred at Old Trafford on Tuesday.
The hosts started with Martial in attack with Rashford and Anthony supporting on the flanks. For Nottingham Forest, Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi was up-front with Jesse Lingard and Brennan Johnson on the wings.
Rashford opened the scoring for Manchester United in the 19th minute with a training ground routine from a corner to fire his side ahead.
The hosts continued to press and were rewarded three minutes later with another fine goal.
Rashford made a run from the left flank and his pass found Martial, who cleverly placed the ball past Forest goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey to make the scores 2-0.
Just before half time, Nottingham Forest thought they pulled a goal back through midfielder Ryan Yates. However, his header found to have hit defender Wily Boly who was in an offside position before beating David de Gea.
In the second half, Forest could not find a way back into the match while Manchester United sealed the result when substitute Fred scored the third goal of the night to make the scores 3-0.
The victory keeps United in fifth (5th) place on the Premier League table, one (1) point behind fourth placed Tottenham Hotspur with a game in hand.
Nottingham Forest remains in 19th position on the table.
