Nasarawa State: Police arrests 751 Suspects

The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested 751 suspects of various crimes across the state.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Maiyaki Baba, stated this while parading the suspects at the police headquarters in Lafia the state capital.

He said the police would not rest until it executes its mandate of protecting lives, properties, apprehending criminals, maintenance of law and order in the state.

The CP expressed his appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, for finding him worthy of heading the Command as the 27th Commissioner of Police in the State.

He further appreciated the Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule for consistent logistics support and intervention that assisted the Command’s operational activities in fighting crime in the State.

“The Command has recorded from January to December 2022 remarkable achievements in the fight against crime and criminality in the State.

Among these are: “Number of Armed robbery suspects arrested:136,

Number of suspected kidnappers arrested:112, number of firearms recovered: 44, number of live ammunition recovered:704, number of Arrests cycles recovered: 6″.

“Number of vehicles recovered:5, number of cultists arrested:138, number of Rape suspects arrested: 59, suspects arrested for other sundry offenses 365, Money recovered: #600.000.00, number of Handsets recovered:14,

Total Number of Cases Charged to cultists: 374 and total Number of Convictions Gained:23.

He urged the people of Nasarawa State, to report crimes in order to reduce crime to its barest minimum in the State.
