Elections: Kwara State Commissioner of Police visits INEC’s Facilities

The Commissioner of Police in Kwara state, North-Central Nigeria, Paul Odama, has paid an unscheduled visit to the Independent National Electoral Commisssion’s (INEC) State headquarters in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.
The visit was in a bid to ensure that the security arrangements in and around the Commission’s facilities in the state, particularly the headquarters in Ilorin, are watertight.
The Police boss was received on arrival by the Head Of Department, ICT, Mr. Yinusa Musa, who conducted him round the facility, where some of the election materials (Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, Computers, and other materials) already received by the INEC were kept.
Odama, who commended the policemen and other security men on duty, took time to advise the officers to be at alert at all times and very sensitive to happenings around them.
In the entourage of the commissioner of Police was Adekimi Ojo, the deputy commissioner of Police Operations, Kwara State Police Command.
The commissioner of Police reiterated his commitment to providing a secured environment for the peaceful conduct of the 2023 elections.
