The Kano South senatorial candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Kano state, Honourable Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila, has called on security operatives to investigate an alleged case of vote buying in the Kano South senatorial zone.
Honourable Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila, who is a former Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on National Assembly Matters and a former member representing Sumaila/Takai in the National Assembly, made the allegation during a media briefing held in the ancient city of Kano state.
He alleged that the incumbent senator representing the zone, Senator Kabir Ibrahim Gaya, was hiding under the guise of empowerment and trying to buy the votes of people.
‘At this material time that remains few days to election, Senator Kabiru Gaya has started distributing money to electorates in the name of empowerment.
‘Our people are tired of this mis- representation. Many people have lost thier lives in Kano Wudil -Gaya road because of the bad condition of the road.
‘For all these years Senator Gaya was representing the people of Kano South, no town hall meeting was organized to hear from the people he is representing; this is so unfortunate and is an element of bad representation,’ he noted.
The NNPP Kano South senatorial candidate maintained that, if given the mandate, he would change the narrative by ensuring people were being carried along through organizing townhall meetings
‘I’ve visited all the wards in Kano South senatorial zone. I know their needs, and we have already mapped out a befitting blueprint.
