Osun State Governor Calls for Party Unity

The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke has called on members of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in the state to embrace unity and work for the progress of the party.

 

Adeleke made the call on Wednesday at the Osun PDP State Congress held at Osogbo Township Stadium to usher in a new set of leaders.

 

The Governor described PDP in Osun state as a formidable party poised not only to deliver dividends of democracy to residents but to also positively redefine governance in the country.

 

He said in order for his administration to deliver on his promise of good governance, a hardworking and visionary party executive was needed as a partner in progress.

 

The Governor who harped on love and unity urged all PDP members to support the new executives in their quest to reposition the party for greater efficiency.

 

“Unity is key, we need all of us to join hands together and move PDP from strength to strength.

 

“I call on all PDP members to unite behind the new executives that will be elected today, let’s hold the banner of love high”, he said.

 

The newly elected PDP State Chairman, Sunday Bisi, in his acceptance, promised to further unite the party and build on the success of his predecessor.

 

“I know what it takes to lead a party into government, I have done it before and I will do it again by the grace of God. I am going to unite the party more, everybody will be on the same page under my leadership,” he said.

 

Bisi also promised a rancor-free party, able to support the governor and provide the enabling environment within which to work for the people of the state.

 

“When you have a united party, then the governor will be able to concentrate, and there won’t be any distractions, I will ensure that and bring everybody into the party so that we will be able to move the state forward,” the Chairman asserted.

 

Delegates from the 30 Local Government Areas of the state including the Modakeke Area Office participated in the congress.

 

The Chairman, Sunday Bisi, will lead thirty-eight other officers of the party in the state.
