The new democratic dispensation in Nigeria has been called upon to form an all inclusive government that will enthrone accountability, transparency, justice and rule of law.

The General Overseer, Dominion Chapel International, Archbishop John-Praise Daniel, made the call during the 2023 Presidential inauguration Church Service at the National Christian Centre, Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

In his words, “the time to heal the wounds in our nation is now. One of the surest ways of achieving this is forming an all inclusive government, not minding, who voted or did not vote for the incoming President”.

It is time to awaken the sleeping giant in us with deliberate efforts made to enthrone accountability, transparency, justice and the rule  of l aw, which essentially constitute veritable panacea for peaceful co-existence and sustainable growth and  development which we all yearn for. Our Gross Domestic Product, GDP, must grow exponentially, while debt burdens should no longer assail our economy.

We have the potential to be the true giant of Africa and a destination of choice for Foreign Direct investment (FDI), tourism and hosting of world class events.

Archbishop Daniel also called on Nigerians to eschew despair in the face of adversity but optimistic for a brighter future of a new Nigeria.

The cleric noted that as President Buhari leaves office, the Church acknowledges the strides made under his watch, saying his dedication to the cause of Nigeria is appreciated.

According to him, “the Church is inspired by his unwavering belief in the potentials of our great nation. I thank him for his years of service and for his leadership”.

“As we stand on the precipice of a new dawn in Nigeria , we acknowledge the providential guidance that has enabled our  leaders to stir the ship of governance to berth at this crucial time. We set our eyes on the horizon, yearning for renewed hope. While dwelling on Nigeria’s current economy and security challenges where many of the citizens are living in fear and uncertainty, he reminded all that God is a God of renewal and restoration. He is a God, who can bring forth a new Nigeria from the ashes of the old, a Nigeria where prosperity and peace are the norm, not the exception. It is disturbing that the nation, once a land flowing with milk and honey, has over the years become a place of scarcity and insecurity. But the promise of the Lord is that our land will once again overflow with abundance, while the shame and fear that have gripped the people will be no more. He appealed to those who might have had other political and electoral preferences, which he acknowledged as normal and expected, to sheath their swords noting that election has come and gone and a winner is set to be sworn in. I therefore enjoin every citizen of our great country to put issues relating to elections behind and come together to support the incoming government to deliver the dividends of democracy’.

Archbishop John Praise pronounces words of hope and blessing to all Nigerians and assures  them that God has not forgotten them because He knows their struggles and potentials.

The Church service was attended by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and his wife, Senator Remi Tinubu, wife of President-Elect, Mr Boss Mustapha, Clergy Men, Defence and security chiefs as well as senior Government officials.
