Organisation Seeks Respect For Data Privacy Rights
A Consultant with Data Protection Compliance Organisation, Mr Tokunbo Smith,
has described Monday’s inauguration of President Bola Tinubu as the beginning of an era where data privacy will be respected and cherished.
“As we witness this important moment, let us celebrate the beginning of an era where data privacy is respected.
“As our leaders assume their roles, we must emphasis the need for safeguarding privacy right,’’ Smith said in an interview with journalists. He called for collaboration among governments, businesses and individuals to safeguard data privacy right, saying that such collaboration would improve data privacy compliance.
Smith said that data privacy had become more important in the digital age and inter-connected world.
According to him, one’s personal information holds much power.
“It shapes our lives and choices and deserves protection,’’ he said.
He said that the organisation was committed to upholding data privacy right.
“Together, let us build a society where data privacy is a fundamental pillar of our democracy.
“We are ready to collaborate with governments, businesses and individuals to navigate the complex landscape of data privacy compliance,’’ he said.
