Member representing Makera constituency of Kaduna State House of Assembly, Dahiru Yusuf Liman has emerged as the new Speaker of the State Assembly.
Liman who emerged through consensus as the speaker of the tenth assembly, promised to promote cordial executive legislative relationship.
He asserted this at the inaugural session of the assembly on Tuesday, assuring that he wil foster unity, as well as champion good governance that will touch every legislative and the staff of the assembly.
In his acceptance speech, Liman disclosed that, recognizing the diverse background of the people will help him form a good environment where the lawmakers can collectively best serve the interest of their constituents.
While calling for cordial executive- legislative relationship, he promised to support the government with legislative duties and work to ensure that all laws passed will be in the interest of the people of the state.
He says, “We will work closely with the executive arm to ensure that the needs and expectations of our constituents are met.”
Meanwhile, the state Governor, Uba Sani had on Monday, chaired a bi-partisan meeting with the members elect ahead of their inauguration where members in attendance expressed their support for his administration.
At the meeting, the members also unanimously threw their weight behind the candidacy of Yusuf Liman Dahiru for Speaker of the House of Assembly, and Magaji D. Henry for Deputy Speaker.
