Seven members of the State Working Committee (SWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo have joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) just 24 hours after quitting the party.

The freshly decamped PDP members, led by its deputy chairman, Martin Ejiogu, also declared that they would be supporting the November 11 re-election of Governor Hope Uzodimma.

It would be recalled that the seven PDP officials resigned from their various positions and dumped the party on the claim that there was no indication that Senator Anyanwu, the party’s candidate, was serious about running for governor in November.

The former PDP officials informed Governor Hope Uzodimma of their support for his administration and their decision to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday during a courtesy visit to the Owerri Government House.

Pledging to back the Uzodimma-led administration and the governor’s reelection on November 11, 2023, they claimed his excellent leadership and sound administration of the state in the last three and a half years were the main determinants of their decision to decamp from PDP to APC.

Gov Uzodimma, who praised them for making the brave and constructive move, asked them to support his administration to provide the state’s citizens with effective governance.
