Directorate Trains 50 Persons On Business Skills In Bayelsa State

The National Directorate of Employment , NDE, began a three-day training on business skills for 50 of its graduated trainees under the Sustainable Agricultural Development Training Scheme, SADTS, in Bayelsa.

The Director-General of NDE, Mr Nuhu Fikpo, represented by the Bayelsa Coordinator, Mr Aham Osuchukwu, said this at the opening ceremony of the training in Yenagoa.

Fikpo said that NDE would use the KASH model that employed the four factors of learning where the K was for Knowledge, A-Attitude, S-Skill and H-for Habits to train the participants.

According to him, “topics to be covered will include, cooperative formation, business plan writing, the importance of record keeping, and viable income-generating agribusinesses that can attract loans.”

Others are weed and pest control methods, the economic importance of raising livestock, its products in nutrition and feeding, the place of improved varieties in Agribusiness and government agricultural policies and impact on employment.

Mr Orodu Daniel, one of the participants, expressed delight to the Directorate, adding that the training would enrich their knowledge and also expose them to the latest techniques in agriculture and agribusiness.
