The Nasarawa State Traders and Marketers Association NSTMA has elected new officials to pilot the affairs of the association in the next four years.
Announcing the results of the election on Saturday in Lafia, the Chairman electoral committee, Ishiaka Baba, declared that Musa Aliyu-Turaki was elected President unopposed.
The electoral committee Chairman added that Vice President 1, Vice President 11, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer, Public Relations Officer (PRO) 1, PRO 11, Auditor 1, Auditor 11, Organising Secretary, and Assistant Organising Secretary, were also elected unopposed, while Financial Secretary was contested for.
In his acceptance speech, Musa Aliyu-Turaki, the President-elect who spoke on behalf of the newly elected officials expressed gratitude to their members for the opportunity to serve them in various capacities.
The President also assured traders in the state that the association would lobby the state government to create enabling environments for smooth business in the state.
He added that the association would ensure that the state government constructs modern markets in all 13 Local Governments Areas of the state.
He, therefore, promised to give priority to the welfare of members of the association in the next four years.
