The Oyo State House of Assembly has screened and confirmed five out of the seven Commissioners nominated by Governor Seyi Makinde for appointment into various Ministries.

The nominees screened and confirmed on Tuesday include Prof Daud Sangodoyin, Mr Akinola Ojo, Alhaja Faosat Sanni, Mr Seun Ashamu, and Mr Adeniyi Adebisi.

All the screened Commissioner designates had served in different ministries in the first term of Governor Makinde.

The remaining two nominees who were said to be unavoidably absent at the screening are Prof. Musibau Babatunde and Mrs Toyin Balogun.

The nominees were confirmed after over an hour of screening and a unanimous decision of the House to approve the governor’s request.

The Speaker, Adebo Ogundoyin, shortly after the resolution of the House, confirmed the Commissioner nominees and asked them to take a bow and go.

Prof Daud Sangodoyin thanked the Governor for the privilege of the re-nomination saying all the commissioner designates would work to support the vision of the Governor in his second term.

He said: “My aspiration is to support Governor Seyi Makinde to deliver high impact, cross-functional, capital intensive infrastructure projects that will transform Oyo State from poverty to prosperity and also ensure that our state is economically vibrant, socially harmonious, and an aesthetically delightful place for everyone to live.

“This is about adding value to professionalism. Adding value to projects of international standard. Its about inclusiveness in terms of stakeholders in the ministry. This is what we are going to focus on in 2.0.”
