APGA constitutes committee to reconcile party members in Abia, Imo

The national leadership of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, has set up a committee to reconcile aggrieved party members in Abia and Imo States.

A press release announcing the constitution of the committee, which was signed by the national publicity secretary of the party, Mr Ejimofor Opara in Awka said there is a seeming crisis in the states mentioned.

He added that the crises arose from the recently held congresses that threw up new leadership at the national and state levels.

Part of Opara’s releases stated that: “Following the conduct of congresses for the election of officers of the party at all levels, it has come to the attention of the National Leadership of the party of a seeming crisis that is threatening to derail the outcome of the said congresses in the above mentioned States.

“Consequently, the National Working Committee of APGA has approved the immediate constitution of a Fact-finding and Reconciliation Committee for Abia and Imo States.”

He added that the committee will meet with the various congress committees appointed to conduct the congresses in the states involved.

The committee will also hold town hall meetings to interface with various aggrieved members and stakeholders in the said states, and submit its report to the National Working Committee within 21 days.

The committee included: Prof Benard Odoh as chairman, Chief Uche Nwegbo as co-chairman, Hon Amala Anazodo as Secretary, Ojiefi Jane Ejiofor and Deacon Samson Olalere as members.
