Katsina: Board Chairman vows to revamp basic education
The new Executive Chairman of Katsina State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Kabir Magaji, has vowed to reform basic education in the state.
Magaji who was recently appointed by the state Governor, Dikko Radda made the vow on Monday in Katsina when he assumed office.
According to him, a solid foundation will be laid for the growth and development of basic education
The Chairman pointed out that there were multiple challenges confronting basic education in Nigeria, hence his plan to rejuvenate and resuscitate the sector in the state.
Magaji explained that the reform would enable the two million pupils in the state to get an improved basic education.
“If primary education is adequately transformed, secondary and tertiary education will be easily developed and enhanced by the government.
“So, I will work with all staff of the board, ranging from the management staff to messengers, in order to revamp basic education in Katsina state, because primary education is the backbone of any educational development.
“Therefore, I am calling on all staff, including the executive secretary of the board, our 34 education secretaries, teachers, messengers and even cleaners to support me in order to revamp basic education in Katsina state.”
Earlier, the Executive Secretary, Dr Isah Idris-Zakari, while handing over to the new chairman, said the staff of the board would accord him the needed support and cooperation to actualise his plans
