Society Lauds Institute DG’s Effort On Capacity Building

The Executive Director/Founder, International Society of Media in Public Health, ISMPH, Mrs. Moji Makanjuola has commended the deliberate capacity building efforts of the Director General/Chief Executive Officer, Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies, MINILS, Comrade Issa  Aremu.

Makanjuola said the DG’s efforts has led to numerous progressive development in the institute in the last two years of his assumption in office.

She made the commendation while fielding questions from journalists shortly after a visit to the prestigious labour institute in Ilorin.

The renowned  veteran broadcaster, posited that turning around an institution of note like the MINILS, can only be possible if a man with vision is on the saddle of such an organisation.

She said, “it is only a man with vision and purpose-driving attitude that can turn things around the way you have done in the last two years that you have been here. As an organisation of note, both in the country and beyond, we are encouraged by what you have been doing, particularly in the area of capacity building, labour education and research.

“Our organisation will definitely look into areas that we can partner to have a progressive and positive collaboration in ensuring a better placement of the institute, using our moderate but very effective platforms,” she further said.

While felicitating with the labour institute on the occasion of it’s 40th anniversary of existence, Makanjuola who is also the  former President, National Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, enjoined Aremu and his team to continue the job of bringing back the lost glory of the institute, so that they can all look back in years to come and appreciate the sacrifice of today.

Responding, the Director General/CEO of the Institute, Comrade Aremu, thanked the veteran broadcaster for representing her organisation on the courtesy call.

Aremu, commended the society in their various efforts at seeing to the provision of equitable health care services for all within and outside Nigeria.

He described the project as a laudable one which all and sundry should and be ready to open channels of partnership with.

“As it is said in general parlance that health is wealth, so any individual or organisation who pursues the cause of this, needed nothing but support and positive partnership. The institute will be willing to open a window for solid relationship with your organisation”, Aremu assures.

He encouraged the International Society of Media in Public Health, ISMPH to remain focused by engaging and pursuing the purpose of establishing the organisation.

The International Society of Media in Public Health is a non-governmental organisation with it’s headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria’s Capital.
