Education Board Contractors Charged To Deliver Quality Projects

The  Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board NSUBEB, has vowed to take drastic action against any contractor found violating the execution of projects or breaching the contractual obligations entered with it.

The Executive Chairman, of the Board in Nasarawa State, Honourable Muhammad Dan’azimi announced this at a meeting with the contractors handling UBE Matching Grant 2022  intervention projects with the Management of State Universal Basic Education Board and other Education stakeholders.

The Executive Chairman said the Board would not hesitate to revoke any contract found wanting in the area of Quality and timely completion as specified in the contract documents.

He further highlighted that the State Governor  was magnanimous enough to have paid the counterpart fund for 2022 promptly, to promote the education enterprise and make adequate provision for infrastructure for conducive learning environment at the basic level and hence would not expect anything less than value for money project.

Danazumi further said that the Board must reciprocate the gesture by ensuring that contractors adhere to specifications strictly to achieve the desired targets.

Contributing, the UBEC Zonal Director, North Central, Lafia, Mr. Emmanuel Nev, chided on the status of previous projects, which to the best of his knowledge was not too encouraging.

He said the Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board should not hesitate to blacklist some erring contractors to serve as a deterrent to others.

In a similar message to the contractors, the Director, Physical Planning, Mr Muhammad Shu’aibu Lakpa further consolidated the earlier warnings and gave in-depth and blow-by-blow specifications as contained in the Bills of Quantities.

Muhammad Shu’aibu Lakpa, tasked community leaders in the State on the need to take ownership of government projects by ensuring proper maintenance of projects sited in their domain.

Responding on behalf of the contractors, Honourable Muhammad Suleiman Tunga, appreciated the State Universal Basic Education Board Management for organising such a forum and promised on behalf of the other contractors to do the needful.
