BFN Set For Lagos Classics
The Badminton Federation of Nigeria is set to host the Lagos International Badminton Classics.
With the aim of attracting top talent and generating excitement, the BFN has unveiled its plans to host a grand event that showcases the best of badminton in the heart of Lagos.
BFN president, Francis Orbih, stated that no fewer than 20 companies, ranging from banking and aviation to insurance, transportation, logistics, photography, and food have indicated interest in partnering and raising the bar for sporting events in Nigeria.
The marketing meeting at the elegant Civic Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, aims to unlock opportunities for collaboration, create unforgettable experiences, and captivate audiences on a whole new level, Orbih stated.
This year’s edition is expected to attract nearly 90 international players, all vying for crucial ranking points as they gear up for the highly anticipated Paris 2024 Olympics.
Notably, Nigerian players will also seize the opportunity to earn points, bolstering their chances not only for the Paris Olympics but also for the upcoming African Games in Accra, Ghana next year.
Orbih, who is also a council member of the Badminton Confederation Africa, pleaded with companies to assist Nigerian players’ quest for honours, saying, “Corporate participation is also an investment on the Nigerian players.”
