The Plug artist sweep Headies with 13 nominations
Artists from Nigeria’s talent management company, called ‘The Plug‘, dominated the Headies Awards list of nominees with 13 nods. The culture advisory company confirmed this, following a roll out of nominations by the award organisers for its 16th edition.

One of the standout names from The Plug’s lineup is the Afrobeats powerhouse, Davido, who has amassed five nominations. His notable tracks, ‘Stand Strong’ and his feature on ‘Electricity,’ by Pheelz, have each earned him two nods. Additionally, his latest album, ‘Timeless,’ has been recognized in the coveted Best Album category.
Victony, who recently dropped two hit singles, ‘My Darling’ and ‘Angelus,’ has secured an impressive four nominations. His track ‘Soweto’ has been selected for Best Recording of the Year and Viewers Choice categories. Moreover, Victony will compete for the coveted ‘Album of the Year’ and the highly sought-after ‘Next Rated’ awards, cementing his position as a rising star in the industry.
Among the other nominees under The Plug’s management is the globally acclaimed afro-fusion sensation, Ckay, who has been nominated in the Best R&B Single category for his chart-topping track ‘MMADU.’ Focalistic, a South African sensation, has earned a nomination for Best Southern African Artiste of the Year, further solidifying his cross-border appeal. Additionally, the alternative music pioneer, BOJ, has received two nominations for Best Alternative Song and Best Alternative Album, showcasing his creative versatility.
