APC Officially Announces National Chairman, Secretary’s Resignation

The governing All Progressives Congress, APC has officially announced the resignation of its National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu and National Secretary, Iyiola Omisore.

The Deputy National Chairman North, Senator Abubakar Kyari has also become the party’s Acting National Chairman.

Senator Kyari made the announcement after an emergency meeting of the National Working Committee at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja. 

For the position of the National Secretary, Senator Kyari, said according to the APC Constitution, the Deputy National Secretary, Mr. Festus Fuanter will act as the National Secretary. 

“It is now incumbent on my humble self Senator Abubakar Kyari as the Deputy National Chairman North to assume the office of the Acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC and subsequently also, the Deputy National Secretary Barrister Festus Fuanter will now assume the office of the Acting National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC,” he said.

The APC Acting National Chairman explained that the reasons for the resignations will be communicated at a later date.

He added that the National Caucus and National Executive Committee meetings slated for 18th and 19th July have been postponed and new dates will be communicated later.

Recall that for months now, the National Vice Chairman North-west, Salihu Lukman has publicly consistently accused Senator Abdullahi Adamu and Iyiola Omisore of mismanaging the party, not giving accounts of party finances, disregarding the APC Constitution among other things.
