Arrangements have been concluded for the airlift of the last batch of FCT contingent to the 2023 Muslim Pilgrimage to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Thursday (27/7/2023).
The Director of the FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Malam Abubakar Adamu Evuti, made this disclosure in Makkah, kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.
His words: “The last batch of FCT pilgrims that participated in the just concluded Hajj operations are expected to arrive Abuja on Thursday 27/07/23.”
Evuti said that the return flight operation after the exercise commenced on 12/07/2023 with a total of 298 Pilgrims aboard Air Peace flight number APK 7915, which landed in the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, after departing King Abdulaziz International Airport Jeddah at 00:06 hours Saudi local time.
The Director explained that the last flight is expected to leave King Abdulaziz International Airport on Wednesday 26/07/23 aboard Air Peace flight number APK7973 around 22:30 hours local time with 270 FCT Pilgrims.
While expressing his happiness over the successful operation this year; he appreciated Almighty Allah for His benevolence which has made everything fall in line.
The Director said the Board has mapped out strategy to complement the successes recorded in the operation to enhance 2024 Hajj exercise.
He lauded the exemplary behavior of the FCT contingent throughout the Hajj operations.
Evuti also appreciated the support of the FCT Permanent Secretary, Mr. Olusade Adesola, for his uncommon interest in the welfare and wellbeing of the pilgrims, which has served as stimulus throughout the period.
