APC Appoints Ganduje as National Chairman; Ajibola Becomes Secretary

Nigeria’s governing party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed the immediate past Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, as its new National Chairman and Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Bashir as the National Secretary.

The nomination and appointment of the National Chairman and National Secretary was made on Thursday at the 12th meeting of the APC National Executive Committee in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

 

Ganduje and Senator Bashir replaced the former National Chairman, Abudullahi Adamu, and the National Secretary, Iyiola Omisore, who resigned a few weeks back.

In his acceptance speech, the new APC National Chairman, Senator Ganduje, said he would focus on promoting party unity and increasing the number of State governors and legislators in the party.
