President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged the United States and Europe to deepen socio-economic relationships with Nigeria in order to prevent conflict of interest.

He stated this at a meeting of the National Executive Committee, NEC meeting of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

The President had on Wednesday sent messages to America and Europe

“To our international community, I sent a message to America and Europe yesterday, what are you saying about our trade partnership with any other country? If we are hungry and poor, I ask how can you handle a mad dog and prevent a barking dog from eating food from a person’s plate of your enemy, so give me the help, we are hungry. The continent depends on Nigeria and we have to show that leadership but not at the expense of our joy and happiness.

The President stressed the need for the APC government to execute programs that work for the people rather than punish them.

“To really re-engineer the economy and politics of this country, we must find a way to satisfy the yearnings of the poor and all the programs that we rollout must work for the people and not punish the people.

Commenting on the ongoing Presidential election tribunal, President Tinubu noted that the 2023 Presidential Election was the most free and fair in Nigeria’s history.

“Yes, we are facing challenges in court and I say, this is one of the most free and fair elections in the history of Nigeria.

“As a democrat, those who cannot accept the result of a free and fair election do not deserve the joy of victory. President Tinubu said.

The Nigerian Leader, therefore, urged party members to remain united and loyal to the party.
