Nigeria’s Minister Of Information Assumes Office, Pledges Transparency

Nigeria’s Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, says transparency will be his watchword as he assumed office following his official inauguration on Monday.

At the National Press Centre in Abuja, he told newsmen and heads of agencies under his ministry, that the government and his ministry will stay true to Nigerians in the dissemination of information.

In his words: “You are going to have a Ministry of Information and National Orientation that is open, transparent and accountable to Nigerians.’’

He said the government would be quick to admit where mistakes are made and make clarifications and adjustments where needed.

The Minister said, in the coming days, he would roll out the plans of his ministry to Nigerians as the country charts a way forward under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Minister of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Mrs Hannah Musawa, as well as the Minister of Tourism, Lola Ade-John, were also present at the familiarization briefing with newsmen and representatives of relevant agencies.

They all pledged their commitment to work together in achieving the goals of the new administration.
