Taraba State Government Partners US to Develop Agriculture
The Governor of Taraba State, Agbu Kefas, has reinstated his administration’s readiness to enhance the lives of the inhabitants in all parts of the state’s economy so the development could reach all parts of the state.The governor made the affirmation at the weekend in a meeting with the US Embassy in Abuja. The meeting was organized to dialogue on the potential opportunities for collaboration in agriculture, commerce, and support for the state.
In order to fully realize the state’s potential for growth and development, Kefas outlined the administration’s priorities and the steps already taken to reposition the state, particularly in crucial industries like agriculture, mining, and solid minerals, health care which will require the assistance of the American government and private sector participation.
He stated that the sectors which his administration would address including infrastructure and others had their roots in poverty.
Kefas also requested support from the embassy in the areas of gender equality, funding and capacity building for renewable energy sources, insecurity, environmental protection, and climate change.
The embassy representatives committed to fostering closer cooperation and facilitating connections with US businesses and the government in the mentioned domains in a mutually beneficial manner.
They also recommended regional cooperation amongst nations so that American assistance through USAID and similar organizations can benefit a larger population.
