The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA), has received a delegation from the Ebonyi State Government who are in Lagos to share knowledge about the activities of the agency.

The delegation were top officials drawn from the Ebonyi State’s Gender Based Violence (GBV), Task force including Ministry of Health, Justice, National Obstetric Fistula Center, GBV clinic, Women Affairs and Social Development.
The team lead, Advisor USAID Ebonyi State, Mr Austin Onwe stated that, “The aim of the visit was to learn from the Agency, ask questions and see how the learnings can be applied and improved on modalities presently in place in the State.
“The team will understudy the achievements, programs, structure and workings of the Agency that can assist them in fighting the menace of Sexual and Gender Based Violence in Ebonyi State.”
Welcoming the team, Executive Secretary DSVA, Mrs. Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi team lauded the Ebonyi State Government for taking the bold steps as SGBV cases have become prevalent in the society, not only in Lagos but across the globe.
She stressed that the Agency has thrived with the full support of the State Government, particularly with the political will as demonstrated by Governor Sanwo-Olu with the introduction of the “Themes Plus Agenda” that paved way for Gender Equality and Social Inclusion.
Adeniyi emphasised the need for coordinated approach and partnership with other responder agencies including the police, NGOs, the Judiciary, Ministries, Departments and Agencies of the State as critical standpoint for winning the war against SGBV.
Local Advocacy
Meanwhile, the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency has continued it’s awareness on the SGBV menace as it moved it’s
advocacy train to the Local Council Development Area of Isolo through its Community Engagement Department.
Executive Secretary DSVA, Mrs. Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi revealed that the increase in the awareness at the grassroots had increased awareness and reporting of the SGBV perpetrated crimes as more Lagosians are more aware of the need to break the culture of silence.
