Arsenal Captain Martin Odegaard Signs New Five-Year Contract
Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has signed a new five-year contract that will keep him at the Premier League club until the summer of 2028.
Norwegian midfielder Odegaard has made 112 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions, scoring 27 goals and providing 15 assists. He joined the Gunners from Real Madrid initially on loan in January 2021, before signing a permanent four-year deal, with a club option to extend his stay for a further 12 months.

“I’m really excited for what’s to come at this club and I want to be a part of that, so for me it was an easy decision to stay here for longer. I’m so happy,” Odegaard said.
Odegaard netted his third goal of the season when he completed the scoring against PSV Eindhoven on his UEFA Champions League debut for the Gunners.
The Arsenal captain believes that the club’s current upward trajectory made the decision to sign a new contract easy, as he feels even better is to come in the years ahead.
The Gunners have now tied arguably its four most important players to long-term deals, with Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka, William Saliba and now Martin Odegaard in the space of nine months.
