Voice of Nigeria Mourns Correspondent, Hamisu Danjibga

Voice of Nigeria, the country’s external radio service, has announced the death of staff, Hamisu Danjibga, who died in the hands of terrorists, with a call on security and relevant agencies to find and punish the perpetrators.

 

It is with a heavy heart that the Staff and Management of Voice of Nigeria (VON), announce the murder of Hamisu Danjibga, our Correspondent who was kidnapped in the early hours of Monday, 18th September 2023, by terrorists at Zamfara State,” Director General of Voice of Nigeria, Osita Okechukwu, said in an official statement.

 

Okechukwu described the late Hamisu Danjibga, one of VON’s longest-serving Hausa Service Correspondents, as a dedicated and diligent reporter who served in different capacities in his long career.

He said the VON family, colleagues nationwide and his immediate family will miss him; while praying his family musters the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

 

We call on security agencies to fish out these terrorists and prosecute them immediately,” he concluded.
