Military Commander Charges Troops On Discipline

The troops of 35 Artillery Brigade have been charged to respect the rule of law, remain loyal and uphold the tenets of military discipline and professionalism at all times.

The Corps Commander Artillery (CCA) Major General Markus Kangye gave the charge during his familiarization visit to Headquarters 35 Artillery Brigade, Alamala Barracks, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

He said: As soldiers of the corps of artillery, who are known for effective training and provision of the needed firepower support to all Nigerian Army operations, you must be disciplined, which beyond being a core value of the Nigerian Army is critical in artillery operations.

The Commander disclosed that the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja has placed a high premium on the welfare of troops, evidenced in the recently proposed affordable housing scheme for soldiers. He pointed out that the effort is aimed at boosting the morale of troops as well as ensuring they maintain a high standard of fighting efficiency in all Nigerian Army operations across the country, to rid the country of all criminal elements.

While admonishing them to shun all forms of unprofessional conduct, and fraternization with unauthorised persons especially during operations,  he charged them to key into the command philosophy of the COAS “To transform the Nigerian Army into a well-trained, equipped and highly motivated force towards achieving our constitutional responsibilities within a joint environment.

Major General Kangye further called on the troops to participate actively in all training activities to enhance professionalism. The Commander equally visited the 351 Artillery Regiment and was briefed on the administrative and operational activities by the Commanding Officer 351 Artillery Regiment in his office.
