Nasarawa Palliatives Investigation Committee Summons all Commissioners, LG Chairmen

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee investigating the alleged diversion of palliatives by some government officials and stakeholders has met with Five Local Government Chairmen of the Keffi zone of the State, in continuation of its investigation.
The Chairmen who appeared at Monday’s sitting are those of Kokona, Keffi, Karu, and Nasarawa Local Government Areas (LGAs) while Toto LGA was represented by the deputy Chairman.
The LG Chairmen explained and presented before the committee documents containing the mode of their palliative distribution where the Chairmen of Karu and Nasarawa LGAs were told to go back and return on another re-scheduled day.

Chairman of the Committee and Deputy Speaker of the House, Hon Abel Yakubu Bala, while speaking said the committee will not leave any stone unturned in getting to the root of the matter.
He said the committee has extended its invitation to all the Hon. Commissioners in the State and all the Chairmen of Local Government Areas.
This according to him was to help the committee with relevant information regarding the distribution of palliative in their respective areas.
He emphasized that all Commissioners and Local Government Chairmen of the Northern Zone which are those from Akwanga, Wamba, and Nassarawa Eggon are to appear on Wednesday while all Commissioners and LG Chairmen from the Five LGAs of the Southern Zone are appearing on Thursday. 27th and 28th.
“This committee decided to call on you to know how the palliatives provided by the Federal and Nasarawa State Governments were distributed in your various local government areas”, the chairman added.
