Army Officers’ Wives Association President Commissions Projects

The Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association, NAOWA President Mrs Mariya Abiodun Lagbaja, has commissioned projects at Giginya Barracks Sokoto State.

 

The projects include:

Remodeled Nursery Section Building, renovated block of classrooms and newly constructed toilet facilities at the NAOWA Model Nursery and Primary School, Giginya Barracks Sokoto.

 

Commissioning the projects, Mrs  Lagbaja said the construction of the structures by the Chairperson NAOWA 8 Division Chapter, Mrs Florence Mutkut, shows her commitment in advancing the educational initiative of the association by providing conducive learning environment for children.

 

She noted that the projects was an effort by the Chairperson NAOWA 8 Division Chapter, at strengthening the narrative of the association, through the continuous development of institutions, established by past leaders.

 

She reiterated her commitments to continue to give high premium on the standardisation of all NAOWA establishments and learning institutions across the country.

 

” This projects which is a product of my vision statement of “Sustaining Legacies Through Unwavering Commitment to Unity and Service for the 

Betterment of Humanity.” 

 

” Therefore, I make bold to say that, the establishment of these new structures, as well as the remodeling of the existing structures in the school, shows that the Chairperson NAOWA 8 Division Chapter, is in tune with my vision in advancing the cause of our noble Association,” Mrs Lagbaja said.

 

The NAOWA President appreciated the staff of the school, especially the long serving staff, for their commitment, dedication and resilience in their service to the institution.

 

Earlier, the NAOWA Chairperson 8 Division Chapter, Mrs Florence Godwin Mutkut, welcome Mrs Mariya Abiodun Lagbaja and her team to NAOWA Vocational Centre Ginginya Cantonment in Sokoto State.

 

Mrs Mutkut added that apart from the commissioning of the mentioned projects, the NAOWA President will lay foundation of a 48 students capacity Computer Room and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) centre and other humanitarian interventions.

 

“The ICT centre will be beneficial to pupils of the NAOWA Nursery and primary school and other barracks children as it will enhance their learning capability in information technology. 

 

“She will as well engage in humanitarian outreach aimed at bringing succour to residents of the barracks.  

 

“The motive behind execution of these impactful projects is our desire to keying into your own burning desire in putting smiles on the faces of our gallant troops and their families including the entire barracks community across the nation.

 

“This is also in line with your vision which is “Sustaining Legacies through Unwavering Commitment to Unity and Service for the Betterment of Humanity,” she said.

Mrs Mutkut further appreciated the NAOWA President and her husband the Chief of Army Staff, Lit. General Toareed Abiodun Lagbaja, for their support to NAOWA across the country, particularly the 8 Division Chapter.

 

The highlight of the occasion was presentation of food items to NAOWA school teacher, widows, presentation of souvenirs, foundation laying of ICT center for the school, cultural entertainment among others.
