Super Falcons midfielder Deborah Abiodun can’t stop scoring for her team, the University of Pittsburgh Women’s Soccer, as she increased her tally to four goals in their 1-1 draw against Notre Dame during the weekend.

Abiodun made a perfect run inside the area before heading in Keera Melenhorst’s corner kick for an 82nd minute equaliser to earn a point in the game.

“Such an honour to make a crucial difference. Proud of this group and our important result,” she posted via X on Tuesday.

Since returning from the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and Newland, the 19-year-old has put her nightmare in down under behind her, scoring for fun for her team.

So far, the teenage midfielder has four goals and an assist: a total of five goals contributions.

Abiodun scored her first goal for Pittsburgh, who are also managed by Falcons coach, Randy Waldrum, off a header in their big win over Bucknell Bisons on August 27, just days after the long trip from Australia.

While she then expressed the excitement of scoring with her head, she now has another headed goal.

“It was quite a good game and good performance from the team in general. I was so happy because I scored with my head, I can’t remember when last I scored a goal with my head. It was a great free kick from my teammate. The whole team, in particular, are so good and everyone always wants to do the best. I am so happy to be here,” Abiodun told pressmen after scoring her first goal in August.
