Nigerians Praise Dana Air Pilot for Skillful Landing

Nigerians have praised Dana Airline Pilot Captain Abiodun Lawal and First Officer Toluwase Oluwani for landing safely following a go-around under a difficult weather situation at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja, the nation’s capital.

The flight departed from Lagos Southwest Nigeria to Abuja the capital city with over One Hundred and Forty passengers on board.

While approaching the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, the flight captain had to initiate a go-around strategy to ensure that all the Passengers landed safely.

Captain Abiodun Lawal said upon approaching the Abuja runway, the visibility was poor due to bad weather and he had to initiate a go-around strategy to have a safe landing.

“A go-around is a fundamental safety procedure in ensuring that the conditions on the runway, approach and aircraft are conducive for landing. 

“At Dana Air, it is our commitment to fly our passengers safely and comfortably and the safety of our passengers and crew will continue to be a top priority for us and we will continue to fly by global safety standards, Captain Lawan added.

It will be recalled that Dana Air recently recruited and trained over Twenty Nigerian pilots to ensure that the safety flying of Nigerians is strengthened and commitment to human capacity development for the growth of the industry

In a trending video on social media, the excited passengers were seen taking pictures with the captain and his first officer, commending them for high safety consciousness.

Dana Air is a Nigerian Domestic airline that operates a mixed fleet of Seven Boeing aircraft with daily flights to major cities in the country.
