Tribunal Sacks Sule as Nasarawa Governor, Declares Ombugadu as Winner

The governorship election petition tribunal sitting in Lafia has declared the governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party PDP, Dr. David Ombugadu as the winner of the March 18 governorship election in the state.

Ombugadu had dragged INEC and Abdullahi Sule to the petition tribunal challenging his announcement as governor urging the tribunal to announce him (Ombugadu) as the winner of the election.

Delivering the verdict, the chairman of the tribunal, Justice Ezekiel Ajayi said the first, second, and third respondent failed to prove in their defense.

The tribunal ordered that the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, should retrieve the certificate of return from Sule and and issue another one to Dr. Ombugadu.
