Financial technology firm, PalmPay, says it has onboarded 1.1 million businesses and has over 600,000 merchants and 500,000 agents in its four years of operating in Nigeria.

It was disclosed in a statement issued at an event to mark the fourth anniversary of the firm’s operation in Nigeria.

During the 4th anniversary event, Chika Nwosu, Managing Director of PalmPay Nigeria, stated that PalmPay is paving the way for a more inclusive future. “We are proud to have grown to 30 million users on the PalmPay smartphone app, which represents a tripling in our app user base from just over a year ago.

“By now, 1 in 5 Nigerians are using our platform for transactions across our smartphone apps, merchants and agents. We aim to bridge the gap in financial inclusion by providing accessible and affordable financial services to the unbanked and underbanked population.”

At the event, PalmPay said its targets were to serve over 10 million businesses with secure, user-friendly and inclusive financial service.

Nwosu assured that PalmPay was committed to delivering excellent customer service, addressing queries, and ensuring a seamless user experience with its 36 offices across Nigeria.

He said, “Community engagement and support is key to us because it drives financial literacy and empowerment.”
