2023 World Teachers’ Day: Gombe Governor To Improve Education, Welfare

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has restated his administration’s commitment to promoting the welfare and professional growth of educators.
He also intends to address infrastructure and human resource gap to boost performance and productivity across all levels of the education sector in the state.
The Governor restated this in his goodwill message on the occasion of the year’s World Teachers’ Day celebration.
Future leaders
Governor Yahaya emphasised that teachers were the bedrock upon which the aspirations of future leaders are built, making their role indispensable to the progress of any society.
He praised teachers in Gombe State and Nigeria at large for their invaluable contributions and sacrifices towards societal development, acknowledging their relentless efforts in imparting knowledge and wisdom, saying “teaching, though challenging, remains one of the most honourable professions on Earth”.
On the theme of this year’s World Teachers’ Day, “The teachers we need for the education we want: The global imperative to reverse the teacher shortage,” Governor Yahaya stressed the transformative and critical role teachers play in nurturing the potential of learners.
He, therefore, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to addressing the shortage of qualified teachers.
Governor Yahaya extended his warm wishes to the leadership of the Gombe State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT and all teachers in the state, acknowledging their dedication and role in shaping the future of students, even in the face of challenges.
“On this special day, I join the rest of the world in celebrating teachers and acknowledging their dedication to molding the future generation.”
He further affirmed his commitment to working collaboratively with teachers to build a brighter future for Gombe State through education.
