Following the death of Afrobeats singer Mohbad on September 12, the Lagos State Police Command has arrested and interrogated five suspects, including auxiliary nurse Feyisayo Ogedengbe, who has been identified as the prime suspect.

Other suspects include Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and Primeboy.

Mohbad, whose real name is Ilerioluwa Aloba, was 27 years old at the time of his death. His death has been the subject of controversy, with old videos of the singer alleging bullying and physical assault resurfacing online.

Lagos State Police Commissioner Idowu Owohunwa said in a press briefing on Friday that the five suspects are being investigated for their alleged roles in the sequence of events that led to Mohbad’s death.

He went on to say that Ogedengbe gave Mohbad, whose true name is Ilerioluwa Aloba, “multiple and highly potent” shots.

Owohunwa testified that the shots, which included Tetanus Toxoid, paracetamol, and Cetrazone – an antibiotic — were given to Mobad on September 12.

The drugs allegedly caused an acute reaction, including vomiting, goosebumps, and convulsions.

According to him, Ogedengbe was unqualified to execute the position of house nurse and did so in a non-clinical setting and in a careless professional manner.

Ibrahim Oluwatosin Owodunni aka Primeboy, described as Mohbad’s childhood pal, is another suspect.

According to the police commissioner, Primeboy attended a show with Mohbad on September 10, which concluded in a physical confrontation between the two, resulting in the late singer’s injury.

“The management of the injury subsequently resulted in his death,” he stated.

Mr Ayobami Sadiq aka Spending, who was believed to have invited the auxiliary nurse, has also been listed as a suspect. He is “suspected of conspiracy to commit a felony.”

Sam Larry, whose true name is Samson Balogun, was detained and remains in prison for his role in the Afrobeats star’s death and in relation to the deceased’s viral videos about bullying and violence, according to authorities.
