Equities market begins week positive

Gains in the shares of BUA cement among others led to a bullish close on equities at the Nigerian Exchange on Monday.
Equities benchmark index, the All-Share Index appreciated by 646.76 basis points representing a 0.97 increase to close at 67,101.33 points higher than Friday’s 66,454.57 points while the market capitalisation inched up by N355 billion to close at N36.865 compared to N36.510 trillion recorded the previous day.
Monday’s trading session saw a total of 268.66 million shares valued at N3.46 billion exchange hands in 6,911 deals which got the market closing with 26 gainers relative to 23 decliners.
On price gain, BUA Cement led the table with a 10% profit on it share price to close at N103.40k followed by CHIPLC with 9.80% gain to close N1.12k per share; then Nigerian Breweries made a 9.09% Profit on it share price with a closing price of N42.00.
On the flipside, PRESTIGE led the losers list with a 10% loss on its share price to close at N0.45k followed by FTN Cocoa Processors with a closing price of N1.65k after recording an 8.33% drop while NEIMETH share price dropped by 7.74% to close at N1.55k.
ABCTRANS recorded the highest volume of 29.269 million traded shares followed by ACCESSCROP with 29.171 shares.
