Nigeria’s Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris has concluded his tour of various agencies under his ministry with a pledge to gather relevant inputs for effective service delivery in accordance with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The tour, which began last week, ended on Tuesday with a visit to the National Orientation Agency and the Nigerian Press Council in Abuja.

The whole aim is to see first-hand what the agencies under the Minister of Information and National Orientation are doing,” the Minister told newsmen at the end of his visit to the Nigerian Press Council where he was received by members of staff and Director General, Francis Nwosu.

He said; “I have taken all the notes of all their challenges and their prospects and we will go back to work. Very soon you will see all the policies that we have put in place begin to manifest and unfold for the benefit of Nigerians.”

While the Minister works to ensure better service delivery from government agencies, he said Nigerians as citizens have their roles to play.

It’s not enough for us to say the government should do this and the government should do that. Nigerians also need to change,” the Minister said, stressing that leadership and those that are governed have to come together for a new national rebirth to happen.

Idris said; “So, the new national orientation we are about to embark upon is not just about change in the attitude of leaders, it’s also about change in the attitude of Nigerians, and especially the worker.”

The Minister pledged to continue his engagement with agencies, including unscheduled visits to assess their operations and ensure they are aligned with the government’s policies.
