Ebonyi first lady reiterates commitment to improve healthcare delivery
Ebonyi state governor’s Wife, Mrs Marymaudline Nwifuru, has expressed readiness to collaborate with the Association of Lady Pharmacists (ALPs), Ebonyi Chapter, to achieve optimal health outcome for the citizens in the state. Mrs Nwifuru made the remarks on Tuesday, during a courtesy visit to her by the association in Abakaliki.

The wife of the governor who is optimistic that the partnership with the group would enhance benefits of pharmaceutical care and guarantee safety in drug therapy, also reiterated her commitment to improving quality healthcare delivery of women, children and men in the state.
She pledged to carry the group along on its activities and programmes for effective healthcare delivery.
“I will be needing your help as capable hands-on outreaches and to assist in other areas to enhance healthcare. Also, I am committed to things that concern people, especially women and children, to address their plights,” Nwifuru said.
In her speech, Pharmacist Ifeoma Obi, Chairperson of the association, said that the group was committed to working alongside with other female health professionals to address challenges and bring positive change in respect to health.
“We are ready too to offer our support and partnership. We believe that the collaboration will be crucial for the successful implementation of health and drug-related programmes in the state. The association is an interest group of pharmaceutical society of Nigeria. We aim at professional excellence, service to humanity and augment government efforts in improving healthcare delivery. We also engage in public and maternal child health education, promoting rational use of drugs through public awareness among other assistance aimed at alleviating plights of the less privileged in the society,” Obi said.
She, however, applauded Nwifuru’s prompt steadfast in tackling issues as regards to health and other plights of indigent people in the state.
