The Member representing Abakaliki North Constituency in the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Victor Chidi Nwoke, has condemned the inferno that engulfed a section of some warehouses in lot 1 of the Abakaliki International Market, Abakaliki Ebonyi State South East Nigeria.
The Lawmaker said he got the knowledge of this through a phone call, he condemned in entirety the ugly fire incident and charged the traders and the general public to always ensure they switched off all their electrical appliances and switches when not in use.
“I am appealing to the general public to embrace all the proactive measures and ensure strict adherence to the comprehensive strategy of fire safety so as to prevent fire outbreaks, ensure you off all switches and electrical appliances when not in use to avoid fire outbreaks of all kinds” Nwoke added.
The Lawmaker also used the medium to convince those goods and properties that were destroyed as a result of the inferno to take heart, as he would ensure that all the necessary agencies and government at all levels would come to their aid so as to alleviate the sufferings this might have caused to them and fix them back into the business.
