President Tinubu appoints Chira as Auditor-General

Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has approved the appointment of Mr. Shaakaa Chira as the substantive Auditor-General of the Federation, as recommended by the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC).

A statement signed by the Spokesperson to the President, Ajuri Ngelale stated that President Tinubu gave approval to the appointment of Chira in accordance with the powers vested in him by Section 86 of the 1999 Constitution (Amended)

Ngelale disclosed that Mr. Chira was appointed following a screening exercise conducted by the FCSC.

The Special Adviser to the President also revealed that the process identified Mr. Chira as the most qualified candidate who also scored the highest in the examination amongst all qualified candidates for the office.

Ngelale stated further that the President expects the new Auditor-General to demonstrate the trust reposed in him and meet the high standards Nigerians hold for the implementation of the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
