The Minister of the Nigerian Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCT) Mr Nyesom Wike has reiterated the need for Nigerians to continue to support President Bola Tinubu to achieve the renewed hope agenda of the administration.

The minister said Tinubu has the capacity and political will to take actions that will be in the interest of all Nigerians.

Wike stated this when the leaders of All Progressives Congress (APC) Rivers state chapter, led by its National vice Chairman South -South, paid him a congratulatory visit in Abuja on Thursday.

This is coming as the supreme court upheld the ruling of the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) that a candidate does not need to get atleast 25% of votes in the Federal Capital Territory to be the President of Nigeria.

The court delivered judgement in the case of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar, against the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate, Bola Tinubu.

Wike said: “Support for Tinubu is necessary because he has the capacity and political will to take actions that will be for the good of all Nigerians, let us continue to support him.

“We owe it a duty to continue to support Mr. President, irrespective of the political party we belong. It is not hidden of my position, and I owe nobody any apologies- I stand for equity, fairness and justice.

“I thank God that the battle has ended to the glory of God . We are all members of the Nigerian-state, and therefore it is important for all of us to also understand that the Nigerian-state doesn’t belong to any particular person or group. For a country of this nature, if A takes, the next opportunity should go to B, it is inclusivity, so I’m not going to discriminate”.

Wike who was a two term Governor of Rivers State under the platform of People Democratic Party worked for the victory of the Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the February presidential election as against the presidential candidate of his Party, the People Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

The National Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC)  South-South, Victor Giadom said the visit was to congratulate Wike on his appointment and pledge the party support for him.

We have come to congratulate Wike on his appointment as a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in charge of the Federal Capital Territory.

“We also thank you for the support that you gave our presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu during the last election.

“Giadom urged the minister to continue supporting the president,” he said.
