Acting General Manager of Shooting Stars (3SC) of Ibadan, Dimeji Lawal, has declared Sunday’s Matchday five fixture against visiting Doma United of Gombe, a must win for the Oluyole Warriors.

The Oluyole Warriors showed their determination to be a force this season by holding Akwa United to a scoreless draw in Eket.

Kabongo“, as the 3SC GM is popularly known, while appreciating the players for picking a point against the hard-fighting Akwa United last Sunday, charged them to immediately switch their focus to the next game.

“I remember vividly that I told you after we lost to Bendel Insurance in Benin, that that was just the begining, you must believe in yourself. I’m happy you have been able to pick up the pieces from there,” said the ex International.

“At this point, let me charge you on the next game against Doma United. It is not going to be easy, we must prepare our mind for a tough game but we must prepare to geth the maximum points, because that is what will make the point secured here in Eket count”, the former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles winger stated.

Earlier, the Chief Coach of the team, Abimnola Lawal, charged the played not to get carried away by the result against Akwa United.

“We must approach Sunday’s match with high level seriousness. The Technical Adviser (Gbenga Ogunbote), did say that we will go back home to consolidate, that should be our target and I believe you can do it”.

The Ibadan soccer lords, who returned from Eket on Monday night, resumed training throughout the week ahead of Sunday’s clash against Doma United.

Team News

Captain Malomo Taofeek has recovered on time for Sunday’s Matchday five fixture against Doma United of Gombe.

Malomo took  a knock in last Sunday’s Matchday four tie away to Akwa United in Eket and was substituted by Desmond Agbekpornu.
Fortunately, he has regained full fitness and is in shape to make the Matchday squad.
The trio of Oke Kayode, Anayor Ogbonna and Michael Eneruna have also regained full fitness and could be included in the Matchday five squad.
They failed to make it to Eket due to injuries and illness.
However, Alex Aghahowa is unlikely to make the Matchday squad after the defensive midfielder failed to take part in the build-up to Sunday’s game due to illness.
A win for the Ibadan warlords would push them to the summit of the NPFL – but must be wary of Doma United who have shown they will be a hard nut to crack.
