Nasarawa State Assembly Lauds Governor On Infrastructure
The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has commended Goveenor Abdullahi Sule for initiating development projects having direct bearing on the lives of the people of the state.
The Chairman, House Committee on Works, Mr Suleiman Azara made the commendation while inspecting ongoing construction of New State Secretariat complex along Shendam Road, Lafia, and Remodelling of the First Lady’s Office in Government House.
The committee expressed satisfaction with the quality of the works and commended Governor Sule for awarding the contracts among other projects across the state.
“So far, we are happy with the quality and standard of work as quality materials are being used by the contractors,” he said.
Azara (APC-Awe South), who is also the Deputy Chief Whip of the House, said that the visit was not to witchhunt anybody but to assess state government projects in order to ensure that right things are done.
“We are here to peforrm one of our constitutional duties which is oversight.
“We are here to inspect and assess the projects with the view of ensuring that quality work is done,” he said.
The chairman assured of the committee’s support to the state government in implementing and executing projects.
The consultant handling the projects, Husseini Agyebola, said the construction of the New State Secretariat Complex in Lafia would be in phases.
The consultant told the committee that the secretariat would accommodate 16 ministries, SSG and Head of Service blocks, among others.
Agyebola said that the project, which has duration of eight months, would be completed in May, 2024.
The committee also inspected the ongoing contruction of Central Store, Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism where they commended Sule for awarding the work.
