Appeal Court Victory: Rep Extends Hand of Fellowship To Opponents

Following his Appeal Court Victory, a member of the House of Representatives, representing Enugu East/ Isi-uzo Federal Constituency, of Enugu State, Professor Paul Nnamchi has extended a hand of fellowship to his challenger, Cornelius Nnaji of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying there is “no victor and no vanquish.”

He stated this while reacting to the judgment of the Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos, which validated  his victory in the February 25 National Assembly election.

According to him, the court of Appeal judgment is ” a validation of the people’s will in the February 25, 2023 National Assembly election. ” 

He reiterated his commitment to offering purposeful representation to his constituency.

The lawmaker, who is a member of the Labour Party ( LP) noted that with his victory at the appellate court, he will redouble his efforts in giving  the people of Enugu East/ Isi-uzo federal constituency  a voice in the federal legislature.

While thanking his constituents for their support and confidence in him, he also lauded the Court of Appeal for upholding the mandate overwhelmingly  giving to him by his people’s mandate.

The lawmaker reaffirmed that with the litigations over, he would continue to champion people oriented legislations, as well as putting all the issues affecting his constituents, and Nigerians at large, on the front burner of discourse in the parliament.

He  stated that with Appeal Court judgment, ” the storm is over.”

The Enugu State Election Petition Tribunal had nullified Professor Nnamchi’s election as the member of the House of Representatives.

However, the Court of Appeal, in Lagos, on Friday, in a judgment on an appeal filed by the lawmaker, reversed the verdict of the tribunal and affirmed his election as the representative for Enugu East/ Isi-uzo Federal Constituency.
