Nigerian Striker, Terem Moffi, will be bidding to score his 70th career league goal when he stars for Nice in their away Ligue 1 fixture at Montpellier at the Stade de la Mosson on Friday.

The Nigerian, who is on a six-game goal drought, last scored for Nice in their away win over Paris Saint Germain at the Paris on September 15.

Moffi has scored a total of 69 league goals playing in topflight leagues in France, Belgium and Lithuania.

The Nigeria international has so far scored 43 goals in 114 Ligue 1 appearances playing for Lorient and Nice while he scored only five league goals in 11 games for KV Kortrijk in Belgium.

The 22-year-old also notched 21 goals playing in the Lithuanian league for Kauno Zalgiris (1) and FK Riteriai (20).

Moffi will seek to help the Ligue 1 leaders remain top of the table with a win as it will be a historic one.

Success here for Nice would be the first time in the club’s history that they have won five straight games away from home in the topflight.

The win will also extend Nice’s unbeaten run in the League 1 to 12 games.

Closest challengers Paris Saint-Germain are the only side to have scored past Nice in almost 14 hours of action, and even then, the Eaglets won 3-2 in the capital.

It is therefore no surprise to see that Nice has the best defensive record in Europe’s top-five leagues, having conceded just four goals in 11 games so far.

Their defence is so strong, it has allowed them to collect 25 points despite only scoring 13 goals, fewer than their upcoming opponents and 15th-placed Lorient.

Playing away from home has been of no concern to Nice either, as they have been near-perfect on the road, taking 13 points from a possible 15 in League 1 this season.

Meanwhile, Moffi is expected to be named in Nigeria’s squad to face Lesotho and Zimbabwe later this month in a 2026 World Cup qualifier.
