University of Maiduguri Gets Center For Innovation, Entrepreneurship

One of Nigeria’s frontline universities, the University of Maiduguri now boasts of a new international Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

The N2 billion worth Center was on Saturday inaugurated by Vice President Kashim Shettima as part of his visit to Borno State.

The edifice was constructed by a Nigerian business mogul, Alhaji Abdul-Samad Rabiu, Chief Executive Officer of Bua Group of Companies.

VP Shettima expressed the hope that the Centre will boost of both academic and business pursuits of students of the university.

Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Aliyu Shugaba, who thanked the Bua Group for its generosity assured that the edifice will be well utilized.

The Centre has the capacity to enable participants to launch and grow new ventures that will improve their livelihoods and that of the society.

The inauguration of the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship preceded the 24th combined convoction of the university now ongoing at the International Conference Centre of the University of Maiduguri.
