In a significant stride towards bolstering healthcare education, the Hon. Minister of State for Health & Social Welfare, Dr. Tunji Alausa has reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to providing substantial financial support to tertiary health institutions across the nation.

This announcement was made during the Minister’s oversight tour and official commissioning of state-of-the-art projects at the Federal College of Dental Technology & Therapy, Enugu.
In a statement by the Director of Information, Patricia Deworitshe, Dr. Alausa emphasized the pivotal role of robust health care delivery in the overall well-being of society, outlining the administration’s health-focused agendas, including governance in healthcare, unlocking the value chain of the healthcare sector, health and social security, and ensuring a healthy population.
Commending the collaborative efforts of the institution’s community, the Minister applauded Prof. John Emaimo, the Rector of the College, for remarkable achievements in a short tenure.
The Minister’s visit included the official commissioning of several projects, including a Two-in-One Lecture room, Biomedical Research Centre, Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED), Medical Centre Extension, Rector’s Lodge, One Storey Classroom block, and a Lawn Tennis Court, among others.
Prof. John Emaimo expressed gratitude for the federal government’s support and highlighted ongoing challenges faced by the institution, urging the Minister to address their needs for continued progress.
